The mission of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation is to encourage and inspire future innovation in America.
In 1976, the Bicentennial issue of Life magazine declared that Francis Cabot Lowell’s factory in Waltham was the fourth most important development to shape America.
The museum is a nonprofit corporation governed by a talented, committed Board of Trustees.

The rains that fell this Spring flooded the museum causing extensive damage. Plans are underway to have staggered opening starting Fall 2010.
CALL FOR ENTRIES
Steampuffin's Steampunk Form & Design Competition brings together outstanding Steampunk design innovations, details the design process and promotes the role of the Steampunk designer/craftsman. Along with recycled items, all Steampunk design solutions are primarily built using authentic Victorian (1850s to early 1900s) objects, salvage items, clothing and antiques that incorporate modern technology and have specific functions for modern day, practical uses.
