Steampuffin’s Steampunk Form & Function Competition

Steampuffin’s 2nd Annual Steampunk Form & Function Design Competition brings together outstanding steampunk innovation, details and the design process. and promotes the roale of artists / craftsmen. All Designs solutions are primarily build usins authentic victorian (1850 to early nineteen hundreds objects, salvage items, clothing, jewlery, and antiques and incorporate modern technology. All designs have specific functions for modern day practical use.

Eligibility: Entries will primarily use authentic Victorian objects, salvage items, clothing jewelry or antiques from the period of 1850s to early 1900s. Creations can also use/reuse everyday objects as part of the design. Entries will creatively incorporate/infuse modern technologies and conveniences into the design of the authentic Victorian objects. All Steampunk design solutions should function and work as the artist, designer or craftsman has intended.

+    Steampunk design solution designed and produced by the person or team submitting the entry (not purchased from others or made from a kit).

+    Submit only actual work; not designs in process.

Entries must be accompanied by:

+    Photographs (PDF or JPG) or video files of the Steampunk design solution from all angles (front, back, left and right sides, top and bottom), including any appropriate detail shots of interior/exterior.

Sponsored by the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation (www.crmi.org), a ModVic, LLC(www.modvic.com)  and Steampuffin (www.steampuffin.com) selections in Steampuffin’s Annual Competition represents the best work across the world in creative Steampunk design for housing modern day technology and conveniences, as chosen by a distinguished jury of design peers. All Steampunk design projects will be exhibited at the Charles River Museum in Waltham MA and other museums around the country  from October 2013.
