Volunteer
Volunteers are always welcome – and needed – at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation. Since we’re a small museum, our fun-loving and committed band of ambassadors help with all sorts of important activities, from greeting visitors and guiding tours to assisting in the office and maintaining the exhibits. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:
- Front desk greeting and admissions
- Cataloguing museum and library objects
- Museum object restoration and conservation
- Join the “Oil Can Crew” in our Machine Shop
- Join the “Watch and Clock Collectors” in our Horological Gallery
- Join the “Library Gang” as they maintain our paper and research collections
- Office assistance including mailings and filing
- Special event assistance
- Marketing and public relations
- Internships
The CRMII is the “official” home to several groups, including the New England Model Engineering Society and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, which supply many of our volunteers. If you have an organization you’d like to affiliate with the CRMII, give us a call.
