Getting Here

The museum is located under the smokestack of the historic Francis Cabot Lowell Mill complex at 154 Moody Street in Waltham, Massachusetts, just 10 miles from downtown Boston.

Special note to GPS/Computer Map Users

We have found that visitors who use GPS or computer maps to find the museum might have a difficult time, as our address coordinates and actual entrance are usually far apart. (It seems our historic mill and satellite technology were born in different ages!) Please take care in following our directions and remember that the museum entrance is beneath the smokestack.

Parking

Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot at 19 Pine Street near the Embassy Theater, across the Charles River from the museum. Find a parking place, then go to the nearest automated parking machine to prepay and receive a receipt to place on your dashboard. Follow the signs toward the museum, cross the river on the footbridge (enjoy a great view of the waterfall as you do!), and follow the brick pathway to your right. The museum entrance is just beneath the factory smokestack.

Please do not park at the museum’s back door. This is a restricted entrance, and parking here is by permit only. You may be towed.
